An annual lecture for Judaica collectors will mark the 60th anniversary of the founding of the State of Israel by documenting the architecture and art of Israel's early years.

The Jean S. Moldovan Memorial Symposium, an annual gathering for members of the Harry G. Friedman Society, is set to take place Sunday at the Jewish Museum.

The symposium, titled "A Vision for Jewish Revival: Images of and for the Return to Zion, " will include the presentation of a postcard collection by collector Alan Scop; an architectural review of Israel's early urban development by a historian, Samuel Albert; a discussion of menorahs used during Israel's early years by the collector and physician, Dr. Eitan Schwarz, and an examination of Israeli art by the senior vice president of fine arts at Sotheby's, Jennifer Roth.

"We picked something to honor the 60th anniversary of the State of Israel," a longtime collector and the symposium's benefactor, Joseph Moldovan, said of this year's theme.
