Judge Orders Inventory Of East Side Gallery

The judge presiding over the legal battle surrounding an Upper East Side art gallery known for its extensive Renaissance art collection, Salander O'Reilly, toured the gallery for two hours yesterday to inspect the condition and safety of the gallery and its art, following his order last week to padlock the front door and not allow any artwork in or out of the space. The gallery and its owner, Lawrence Salander, are the subject of nearly two dozen lawsuits alleging debts owed to investors. The New York Supreme Court judge, Richard Lowe III, called for a formal inventory of the art and an analysis of the gallery's computer records.
