Mother Killed in Drunk Driving Crash

A mother driving home with her family was hit and killed by an underage drunk driver early yesterday morning in Queens, police officials said.

Paula Serrano, 28, was killed after a sedan driven by Qadir Ahmad, 19, crashed into her mini-van at 1:56 a.m. on Queens Boulevard in the Woodside section of Queens, police said. Eight other people in the van with Serrano survived the crash, including at least two of her children, police said.

Mr. Ahmad, who was driving with two other passengers, is being charged with second-degree manslaughter and driving while intoxicated, police said.
