Police are searching for several suspects who eluded police in a car chase this morning that began after an officer shot at their vehicle in Brooklyn, police sources said.

Police pulled over a sports-utility-vehicle at about 5:30 a.m. in the Kensington section of Brooklyn after determining that the Cadillac Escalade had false license plates, the sources said.

While approaching the vehicle, an officer saw one of the suspects with a gun and shot at the vehicle, police sources said.

The suspects fled the scene and a chase ensued from central Brooklyn to John F. Kennedy International Airport, where the suspects eluded police, police sources said.
