Quinn To Champion Mayor's Proposal

By Staff Reporter of the Sun | June 18, 2007

City Council Speaker Christine Quinn plans to carry the torch for Mayor Bloomberg while he visits California today. The speaker is scheduled to appear with environmental, business, and health officials at Hudson River Park to stump for the mayor's environmental plan for the city, which includes a proposal to charge drivers a fee to enter central Manhattan.

Pressure to win approval from state lawmakers for the congestion pricing plan is mounting with only four days left in the legislative session.
