Red Sox Jersey Prankster Won't Be Prosecuted
Authorities will not prosecute a man accused of burying a Red Sox jersey underneath the footprint of the new Yankee Stadium, officials said yesterday.
Despite speculation on Sunday from the Yankees CEO, Lonn Trost, that criminal charges could be in store, construction worker Gino Castignoli will not face a criminal mischief charge for burying the jersey of Red Sox slugger David Ortiz underneath the new stadium, a spokesman for the Bronx district attorney's office said.
The Yankees removed the jersey from underneath the new stadium on Sunday in an excavation project that Mr. Trost said cost $50,000.
