Spitzer Nominates Ex-Chancellor To Lead SUNY Board

ALBANY — In his effort to redirect the State University of New York, Governor Spitzer nominated three additions to the Board of Trustees yesterday.

Spitzer nominated Carl Hayden to become chairman of the board. Mr. Hayden is the former state schools chancellor and regent who presided over in the 1990s to improve primary and secondary education.

Nominated for seats on the board were a former Democratic comptroller, H. Carl McCall, and an executive at IBM Corp., Linda Sanford.
