Spitzer Outlines Aggressive Energy Plan

By Special to the Sun | April 20, 2007

Governor Spitzer outlined an ambitious energy strategy yesterday morning, saying the state could lower bills and create new jobs.

Mr. Spitzer proposed lowering energy consumption by 15% below forecasted levels by 2015, to be achieved in part by creating new efficiency standards for appliances.

Speaking at a breakfast forum hosted by Crain's New York Business, Mr. Spitzer also called for new incentives, including fast-tracking permits, for clean, renewable forms of power production.
