Stabbed Body of Man Found in Scorched Home

By Special to the Sun | February 23, 2007

The body of a Bronx man, who suffered several stab wounds, was found yesterday amid ashes in his scorched apartment, police said.

Firefighters found the body of David Massey, 58, early yesterday morning after responding to a fire in the Baychester section of the Bronx.

Officials first believed the victim had died in the fire, but it was later discovered the 58-year-old had been stabbed multiple times in the back.

The incident was the second in two weeks in which firefighters have found a likely murder victim inside a burned home.

The body of 58-year-old Elsie Charles was found on February 8th bludgeoned and stabbed after firefighters responded to a kitchen fire at her home in the Far Rockaway section of Queens.
