The remains, which included a skull and other bones, were found underneath the Tokyo Bar at 277 Church St. while laborers were fixing sewage pipes in the building's basement, police said. Police were notified of the discovery at about 2:20 p.m.

The city's medical examiner will determine if the bones belonged to a human, police said.
