By Associated Press | May 12, 2008

Police say a woman is dead after jumping in front of a subway train, and service was been disrupted on several train lines in Manhattan.

Police say the unidentified woman jumped in front of a northbound A train just after 4:30 p.m. yesterday at 42nd Street and Eighth Avenue.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

The accident rerouted A, C, and E service to the F line between West 4th and 42nd Streets. Transit officials said service was delayed on five separate lines.
