An Art Benefit for AIDS Resarch
Still riding the high of her birthday celebration last month, a benefit for Creative Time, Beth Rudin DeWoody poured her heart into curating "Unframed," an art sale to benefit Acria, the AIDS Community Research Initiative of America.
The art on sale Monday and yesterday at Charles Cowles Gallery, by 17 artists, including Ms. Rudin DeWoody's son, Carlton DeWoody, and Kevin Baker, Peter Gerakaris, Paul Henry Ramirez, Chris Verene, and Chuck Webster, was evidence of her taste for whimsy, color, charm, and humor.
A study conducted by Acria's Center on HIV and Aging found that a third of the 100,000 people living with HIV in New York are older than 50 years of age. Now Acria is training health and social service agencies to support this population.
