At the gala preview for the Winter Antiques Show on Thursday, well-heeled viewers whose homes are already filled with old and valuable places to sit, dine, read, and sleep filled the aisles looking for more. But where would they put it? Decorator Ann Pyne lamented that the pieces she'd bought from John Alexander Inc. in October were still in storage. An exception was Mayor Bloomberg, who has a six-story, 18,000-square-foot Beaux-Arts building at 25 E. 78th St. to fill, to serve as his foundation's headquarters. He and his decorator, Jamie Drake, will show off their decorative partnership at Gracie Mansion tonight at a party to raise funds to maintain the mayor's official residence.
