Friends in the Neighborhood

Helping immigrants file taxes, planting trees, and creating a home for jazz where people can shake away the blues: These were some of the initiatives celebrated at the Citizens Committee for New York City's annual New Yorkers for New York awards Monday night at the Waldorf-Astoria.

Subway hero Wesley Autrey summed up the event's spirit: "When you live in New York City and you live in this country, you are all one."
