Fall Forward

Though there was plenty of basic black on the Paris runways, brilliant shades of color showed up, too. From flowing evening dresses to heavy coats, this fall could be more colorful than spring. Hemlines varied widely: Mini dresses and tunics were ever present, but the forward-looking silhouettes brushed along the knees. Shoulders, too, were accented with detailing and extensions that ranged from space-age to chic.
