The software executive Aso O. Tavitian and a vice chairman of Sotheby’s, George Wachter, have been elected to the board of trustees of the Frick Collection, the chairman of the board, Margot Bogert, announced this weekend.
Mr. Tavitian was the co-founder and chief executive officer of Syncsort Inc., a company that makes data management software. He has also been a longtime supporter of the Frick, having joined the Director’s Circle in 2006, and maintains a personal art collection that includes old master paintings, Renaissance sculpture, 18th-century English furniture, and Persian rugs.
Mr. Wachter has been an active supporter of the Frick for 10 years. He became a member of the Council of The Frick Collection in 2004 and is currently serving as the council’s chairman. Mr. Wachter began working for Sotheby’s in 1973 and is now the co-chairman of Old Master Paintings Worldwide.
