BEING TRUMP Timothy O’Brien reads from and discusses his new book, “TrumpNation: The Art of Being the Donald” (Warner Business), a biography in which he argues that Mr. Trump is primarily a figurehead, not a businessman. Tonight, 6:30 p.m., Coliseum Books, 11 W. 42nd St., between Fifth and Sixth avenues, 212-803-5890, free.

NEW YORK IN THE AFTERNOON Photo historian Michael Lesy discusses and signs his new book, “Angel’s World: The New York Photos of Angelo Rizzuto” (W.W. Norton). Rizzuto photographed New York City in the afternoon – its inhabitants, avenues, architecture, and activities – throughout the 1960s. When he died, he left the Library of Congress $50,000 to publish his 60,000-photograph archive, but the only result, until the publication of Mr. Lesy’s book, was a staple-bound booklet. Tonight, 7 p.m., the Half King, 505 W. 23rd St. at Tenth Avenue, 212-462-4300, free.

LONG RECOVERY Brent Runyon reads from and discusses his memoir “The Burn Journals” (Knopf), about the aftermath of his experience being badly burned at age 14. He is joined by Andrew Solomon, the author of “The Noonday Demon: An Atlas of Depression” (Simon & Schuster). Tonight, 7 p.m., Barnes & Noble Astor Place, 4 Astor Place at Broadway, 212-420-1322, free.
