JONES BEHIND THE CAMERA Vice President Gore serves as co-host for the New York premiere of the film “The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada.”The film is the directorial debut of Mr. Gore’s college roommate at Harvard, actor Tommy Lee Jones, who also stars. After the screening, Mr. Jones participates in a discussion with the chief curator of the Museum of the Moving Image, David Schwartz.The film will be released widely Wednesday. Tonight, 6:30 p.m., Paris Theatre, 4 W. 58th St. at Fifth Avenue, 718-784-4520, $18 general, $12 museum members.


SUAVE SANTA In “Le Pere Noel a les yeux bleus” (Santa Claus Has Blue Eyes) (1966), which screens as part of a series presented by the French Institute Al liance Francaise, an unemployed teenager discovers that wearing a Santa suit is a great way to meet girls. The film is followed by a screening of “Brigitte et Brigitte” (1966), in which two girls from the provinces come to Paris to seek their fortune. Tomorrow, 12:30, 3:30, and 6:30 p.m., Florence Gould Hall, 55 E. 59th St., between Park and Madison avenues, 212-355-6160, $9 general, $7 students, $2 members in advance, free for members at the door. Note: The film is in French with English subtitles.


GABARRON ON SCREEN A screening of Rachel Stella’s new film, “Gabarron in New York,” features the work of Spanish painter and sculptor Cristobal Gabarron.The movie is shown in conjunction with the art show, “The Body Image in Cristobal Gabarron’s Art,” which runs through January 14. A panel discussion with Mr. Gabarron; the curator of the exhibit, Donald Kuspit, and others follows the screening. Thursday, 6:30 p.m., Chelsea Art Museum, 556 W. 22nd St. at Eleventh Avenue, 212-255-0719, free with museum admission, $6 general, $3 seniors and students, free for members and children 18 years and younger.
