SCELSI IN FLUX The Flux Quartet performs all five of Giacinto Scelsi’s string quartets in celebration of the 100th anniversary of the composer’s birth. Scelsi (1905-88) was influenced by Buddhism and Eastern philosophy in his compositions. The string quartets span 40 years, beginning in 1944. ROCK FOR NEW ORLEANS Singer-songwriter Allen Toussaint, a New Orleans native and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee, performs to benefit the Hurricane Katrina relief effort.
