HOMES AND FRIENDS
Writer A.M. Homes was just added to the program of an afternoon reading that is part of the PEN World Voices festival. She introduces a program that also includes Spanish novelist and translator Rafael Chirbes, Russian novelist Yuri Rytkheu,German journalist Peter Stamm, Italian author Antonio Tabucchi, and German novelist Patrick Roth (Friday, noon-1:30 p.m., McNally Robinson Booksellers, 50 Prince St. at Mulberry Street, 212-274-1160, free). DIXIE DUO
Two writers that are natives of the South read from their novels. Georgian Tayari Jones offers an excerpt from her new book, “The Untelling” (Warner Books), and blogger Maud Newton reads from her novel-in-progress about fundamentalist Christians in her native Florida.
