JAZZ TALK The Harlem Speaks series closes out its summer schedule with the national editor of the Black World Today, Herb Boyd. Mr. Boyd is also the author of “Pound for Pound: A Biography of Sugar Ray Leonard” (Amistad) and the civil rights account “We Shall Overcome” (Sourcebooks Mediafusion). He discusses the early jazz scene in Detroit and the Midwest, and controversies in jazz criticism.
