“These mayors are going to be looking to hear from Mayor Bloomberg about what his experience has been greening New York,” a spokesman for Mr. Nickels, Martin McOmber, said. “This whole conference is about sharing best practices.”
Mr. Bloomberg said in a statement that he is looking forward to sharing ideas with his colleagues and bringing about real change.
Mr. Clinton unveiled an initiative yesterday to make energy efficient products more affordable and accessible to city governments and consumers. The Clinton Climate Initiative is partnering with Wal-Mart, the conference of mayors, and other businesses to sell the products to the 1,100 cities that are members of the conference.
