Authorities say one person has been seriously injured at a construction site in Queens.

The fire department says the man was rushed to Elmhurst Hospital Center shortly before 3 p.m. yesterday.

The construction worker walked on a scaffold and part of it gave way, authorities said. He fell approximately 30 to 40 feet.

The man’s identity wasn’t immediately known.

Inspectors with the city’s buildings department are investigating the accident.
