LUGGAGE SERVICE
Breeze through airports and train stations hands-free. The pickup and delivery service Luggage Concierge will transport your luggage for you.
Each bag is insured for $1,500 (with the option of additional coverage), picked up at your home or office, shipped directly to your destination, and then back again at the end of your trip. Choose either ground, overnight, or two- or three-day air shipping.
Weight, turnaround time, and overall size determine the cost, but an average 40-pound bag makes a round-trip to Florida for $53.
Various specials run now through spring.

ON THE WATER
Book a Norwegian Coastal Voyage before December 31 and save on several 2005 summer departures to the remote Arctic island of Spitsbergen. Polar bears, wild reindeer, Arctic foxes, walruses, whales, seals, migratory birds, and wildflowers populate the island, located 600 miles from the North Pole. Two vessels, the MS Polar Star, with 100 berths, and the 163-berth MS Nordstjernen, are small enough to penetrate the island’s stunning, glacier-carved fjords.
Prices for eight- or 11-day excursions start at $3,615 to $6,070 a person and include air from New York, accommodations at Oslo and Spitsbergen hotels, breakfasts, and all meals aboard ship.

SCUBA DIVING
It’s time to find your swimsuit. The 21-room Finch Bay Eco Hotel in the Galapagos is offering new four- and seven-night scuba packages.
Six hundred miles off the coast of Ecuador, the isolated archipelago, home to the world’s only marine iguanas as well as 500 fish species, is relatively undiscovered as a diving and snorkeling destination.
Seven dives and four nights at the hotel, which is a five-minute boat ride from Puerto Ayora, cost $1,272 a person. A seven-night package costs $2,277, and includes 13 dives, full scuba gear, PADI certified divemaster/or instructor, and a visit to the Charles Darwin Research Center, home of giant tortoises.

MUSEUMS
The Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens in Delray Beach, Fla., is celebrating the century-old connection between South Florida and Japan.
In 1904, young Japanese farmers intended to revolutionize the state’s agriculture, but by the mid-1920s only one settler, George Sukeji Morikami, remained. In the 1970s, he donated his land to celebrate Japanese-American heritage. The resulting museum houses a permanent collection of both fine art and everyday objects, including 200 textiles.
The exhibit, “Ningyo: Antique Japanese Dolls,” runs December 21-March 13.
