The American composer Charles Strouse, best known for musical-theater hits such as “Annie” and “Bye Bye Birdie,” has pledged his papers to the Library of Congress, it was announced Wednesday.
The archive of Mr. Strouse, 79, will be the latest addition to the library’s collection of works from American lyric theater; the library also houses the collections of George and Ira Gershwin, Rodgers and Hammerstein, and Leonard Bernstein, among others.
