John Stanley Named Whitney Deputy Director

John Stanley has been appointed to the position of deputy director of the Whitney Museum of American Art, the museum announced Thursday. Mr. Stanley has served as the chief operating officer and deputy director of programs and services at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston since 1995. He will assume his role at the Whitney in August.

Mr. Stanley will be working with Adam Weinberg, the director of the museum, in overseeing its exhibitions, permanent collection, marketing, publications, human resources, administration, trustee office, and legal services.
