Christie’s will auction signature wardrobe items from the Emmy Award-winning HBO series “The Sopranos” at its pop culture auction in New York on June 25, the auction house announced Tuesday.
Highlights of the auction include some of the most memorable items worn on the show, including the short-sleeve button-down blue shirt worn by Tony Soprano (James Gandolfini) during the show’s opening credits. The shirt is estimated to sell for between $2,000 and $3,000.
Costumes from the drama series played a major role in setting a look for the show and were often inspired and contributed to by members of the cast themselves. The series’s costume designer, Juliet Polsca, was nominated for two Emmy Awards and received a Costume Designers Guild Award for her work on the show.
The auction will benefit the Wounded Warrior Project, a nonprofit organization that assists men and women of the American armed forces who have been severely wounded in recent international conflicts.
