AMERICAN ANALOG SET This Austin-based quintet has compiled a varied catalog of ambient and energetic rock. Their latest album, ‘Set Free,’ due out next month from Arts&Crafts, is being called their best yet by far. Tonight at Joe’s Pub (425 Lafayette Street, 212-254-1263).


WHAT IS IT LIKE TO BE A BAT? Cyber-punk trio led by experimental musicians Kitty Brazelton, Dafna Naphtali, and Danny Tunick. First performance in NYC since 2003. Tonight at the Stone (corner of Avenue C and 2nd Street, tickets at the door).


BRAD SHEPIK TRIO Guitarist Brad Shepik is a frequent collaborator with Pachora, Dave Douglas’s Tiny Bell Trio, Joey Baron’s Killer Joey, and the Paradox Trio. With Mark Ferber (drums) and Gary Versace (organ) Thursday at Tonic (107 Norfolk Street, 212-358-7501).


SONS & DAUGHTERS Ex-Arab Strab member Adele Bethel sings and plays guitar in this Scottish quintet whose original country sound has gotten the attention of fans and critics in Britain. Their latest album, ‘Repulsion Box’ (Domino), was released earlier this month. Friday at the Mercury Lounge (217 Houston, 212-260-4700).


LIBERTAD MUSIC FESTIVAL Fat Joe and Catalyst Entertainment’s tour dedicated entirely to Reggaeton’ and other genres of Latin hip-hop comes to New York. Performances by Fat Joe, Wisin Y Yandel, Pit Bull, and N.O.R.E., among others. Sunday at Hammerstein Ballroom (311 W. 34th Street, ticketmaster.com and latinotickets.com).


OUT HUD Haunting disco-pop forging into indie-dance sound and electronic experimentation. Their new album ‘Never Let Us Speak of It Again’ (Kranky) was released in March. Sunday at Eugene’s (27 W. 24th Street, tickets at Other Music).
