Report: Brooklyn Complex To Be Sold
A 46-tower apartment complex in Brooklyn, Starrett City, will be sold, the New York Times reported. The complex, which houses 14,000 residents and is now called Spring Creek Towers, is being put on the auction block by Starrett City Associates, a group of investors, the Times reported. According to the report, real estate executives expect bids for the complex to exceed $1 billion.

Report: GM Provided Aid To Nazis in 1930s
Through a German subsidiary, General Motors provided key aid to the Nazi war effort in the 1930s, selling thousands of trucks to the German military in a strategic business relationship that boosted the company’s revenue and helped Germany rearm while it was persecuting Jews in the lead-up to World War II, the Jewish Telegraphic Agency is reporting in an investigative series posted on its Web site. The series, titled “Hitler’s Carmaker,” details a close relationship with the Nazi dictator and GM executives in Detroit and Europe. The articles say the company declined comment to JTA and note that GM has repeatedly denied assisting the Nazis over the years.

Retailers’ Results Mixed As Wal-Mart Posts Loss
The nation’s retailers posted mixed sales results for November, as some high-end department stores and specialty apparel stores turned in strong results while Wal-Mart Stores Inc. reported a monthly sales decline for the first time in more than 10 years. An index of 54 major American retailers compiled by the International Council of Shopping Centers showed same-store sales rose 2.1% in November. That is far below the same period last year, when the index showed a 3.8% gain in same-store sales.
