LONDON (AP) – The U.S. dollar was mixed Thursday morning European currency trading, falling against the euro and British pound but rising against the Japanese yen. Gold prices fell.
The euro traded at $1.3341, up from $1.3322 late Wednesday in New York.
Other dollar rates compared with late rates Wednesday included: 117.45 Japanese yen, up from 116.88; 1.2142 Swiss francs, down from 1.2154; and 1.1586 Canadian dollars, down from 1.1587.
The British pound traded at $1.9637, up from $1.9619.
Gold fell in London to $664.90 per troy ounce from $666.20 late Wednesday. In Zurich, gold traded at $663.00, down from $665.00. Gold fell 40 cents in Hong Kong to $665.40.
Silver opened in London at $13.28 per troy ounce, down from $13.37 on Wednesday.
