Nasdaq Hits Record Trading NYSE Stocks

Nasdaq Stock Market officials claimed a small milestone in their battle with the New York Stock Exchange, as Nasdaq trumpeted a new record in Nasdaq trading of Big Board stocks.
On Friday, Nasdaq’s systems executed 10.03% of the volume in NYSE stocks, setting a single-day record, according to figures released yesterday. NYSE stocks can trade on other markets aside from the Big Board. Nasdaq’s total reported market share in NYSE securities – which includes volume that is handled in-house by market participants – for Friday was 30.61%.
