LIGHTING THE WAY An exhibit of ancient oil lamps goes on display tomorrow at the Museum of Biblical Art. Most of the 90 artifacts in “Let There Be Light” are terracotta and small enough to fit in the palm of a hand. The display features lamps of Jewish, Christian, Samaritan, Roman and Islamic origin, dating as far back to the third millennium B.C.E. The exhibit is on loan from the Bible Lands Museum Jerusalem. This weekend, the former official archaeologist of Jerusalem and the chairman of the scientific advisory board of the Bible Lands Museum, Dan Bahat, lectures on “The Jerusalem of the Maccabees. He will discuss how the city might have looked when Chanukah was established to commemorate the recapturing of the Temple of Jerusalem from the Greeks (Saturday, 2 p.m., 212-408-1251, registration requested). Tomorrow through February 26, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday, 10 a.m.-6 p.m., Thursday, 10 a.m.-8 p.m., Museum of Biblical Art, 1865 Broadway at 61st Street, 212-408-1500, free.
