LIVING LARGE New paintings by Lisa Sanditz go on display Friday in the exhibit “Organized Living.” The new works are based on a series of road trip across America. In one painting, a big-box home store is painted in an imposing checkerboard pattern against an orange sky. In another, a cookie-cutter housing development is commercially endorsed by the hugely popular painter Thomas Kinkade. A large mural by Ms. Sanditz went on display yesterday at Canal and Greene streets as part of a public art project by Creative Time and United Technologies. ON PARADE Deitch Projects presents the Art Parade, an outdoor spectacle of floats, placards, and street performances by local artists to mark the beginning of the art season and New York Fashion Week. Saturday, 4 p.m., Grand Street between Crosby and Wooster streets, 212-343-7300, free.
RIDE TO THE BEACH The Coney Island Museum presents “Subway to Dreamland,” an exhibit closing this weekend that features artwork and photography related to the Stillwell Avenue Portal Building and the West 8th Street subway station.
