BEHIND THE SCENES New graphite drawings by Texas-born artist Richard Anthony Martinez are on display in “Backdrops and Cameras.” His subject is the early film technique known as “matte painting,” in which actors’ actions were superimposed onto detailed paintings that were used as backdrops. META-CHINATOWN Video images of street life in the Chinese cities of Nanning and Shanghai are projected on a Chinatown building facade. The 40-minute video loop is the second part of a 10-city, global public art series created by New York-based Brazilian artist Solange Fabiao.
