CITY LIGHTS George Nick’s oil paintings depicting quiet scenes in cities including Boston, Paris, and Rome are on display in an exhibit of his new work. BIRDS ON THE BRAIN Gulls and crows are just a few of the birds on display as part of “The Ornithological Paintings of Jamie Wyeth,” which closes this weekend. It is the artist’s first major show in New York since 2000. PAINTED PORTRAITS “The Painted Spirit,” a new show of portraits by American painter Robert Henri (1865-1929), includes more than 35 paintings made between 1902 and 1928. The portraits on view were painted during Henri’s travels to Spain, Ireland, and around America. Some are on view publicly for the first time.
