BATHING BEAUTIES New work by Italian photographer Massimo Vitali is on display at Bonni Benrubi Gallery. His colorful, large-scale photographs capture scenes of people on holiday, mostly at beaches but also on the ski slopes. FAMILY PORTRAITS Nicholas Nixon’s black-and-white photographs are on display through this weekend in the exhibit “Life and Times.” It includes the entire “Brown Sisters” series to date. Mr. Nixon has gathered the four sisters together for a yearly portrait since 1975, grouping them in the same order for an 8-by-10 photograph. (The Museum of Modern Art is concurrently exhibiting the complete series.) The exhibit also features other portraits as well as cityscapes of Boston and New York from 1974 and 2005. INSIDE VOICES Brooklyn artist K.K. Kozik pictures people inside their “personal havens” as part of his new series of paintings, “Shelter.” The gallery’s outdoor space features work by South Korean-born artist Sook Jin Jo. OLD PAPER, NEW INK New drawings by Chuck Webster are on display at Zieher-Smith. The artist uses torn selections from his large collection of antique paper, creating biomorphic forms with colored pencil, ink, and watercolor. The show coincides with “The Painted World,” a group show at P.S.1 Contemporary in which Mr. Webster’s work is also on display through January 30.
