HIDDEN CAMERA In the works on view in “Off the Wall: A Visual Treasure Hunt,” artist Sara Sill incorporates photographic sources into mixed-media paintings. She was inspired by a trip to Italy, where she was struck by the colors and textures on the facades of buildings, some of which had been repainted many times over several centuries. As she photographed the walls, she began to see figures hidden in the patches and discolorations, so she layered paint over the photographs to draw out some of those images. Above is “The Ephemeral Bride” (2005) and at right is “Antarctica” (2005). Through Monday, National Arts Club, 15 Gramercy Park South at 20th Street, 212-475-3424, free. Note: Business attire required.
