ODE TO AMERICA’S PASTIME “The Artist and the Baseball Card” features works by American illustrators and cartoonists celebrating the baseball card in paintings, ink drawings, collages, and monotypes. Inspired by baseball cards, their subjects include Don Mattingly, Joe DiMaggio, Tank McNamara, Charlie Brown, and the infield fly rule. Above is Gary Kelly’s “Cool Papa Bell” (1994).
