YOUNG ART LOVERS
A party and auction benefit the Whitney Museum’s Independent Studies Program. The “Art Party” draws a young guest list, reflected by its list of chairmen, including Alan Cumming, Milla Jovovich, Rachel Feinstein, Zac Posen, and the director of the Whitney, Adam Weinberg. Rene Risque and the Art Lovers provide louche lounge music, and a silent auction includes work by Alexis Rockwell, Toland Grinnell, and others. The ISP is a studio, art curatorial, and critical studies graduate program that is now in its 39th year. Tonight, 9 p.m.-1 a.m., Splashlight Studios, 529 W. 35th St., between Tenth and Eleventh avenues, 212-671-1818, $150 in advance, $250 at the door.
KITCHEN HELP
Yoko Ono and a longtime board member at the Kitchen, Caroline Stone Keating,are the honorees at a downtown benefit for the Chelsea performance space. Performers at the dinner include Susie Ibarra, Roberto Rodriguez, Daniel Bernard Roumain, Philip Glass (a co-chairman of the even), and Ms. Ono’s son, Sean Lennon. An afterparty with dessert and dancing follows the program.Video installations by Assume Vivid Astro Focus and Bec Stupak/Honeygun Labs are on display. Monday, 6:30 p.m. cocktails, 8 p.m. dinner, 9:30 p.m.-1 a.m. after-party, the Puck Building, 295 Lafayette St. at Houston Street, 212-255-5793 ext. 29., $500 and $1,000 gala tickets, $125 afterparty only.
