MONEY FOR BREAD The Matzo Files holds a benefit for its flat-file art gallery housed in a matzo factory on the Lower East Side. Attendees can purchase $5 “mystery matzo boxes,” some of which contain art and others that are full of matzo. The event takes place in the performance space of a newly opened restaurant serving Judeo-Latin cuisine (tomorrow, 6-9 p.m., Mo Pitkin’s restaurant, 34 Avenue A, between 2nd and 3rd streets, benefit@matzofiles.org for tickets, $15 in advance, $20 at the door).At the gallery, some 250 artists contributed work that fits in either a folder or a box, with supporting materials on view in binders. Viewers can leaf through the binders to decide which boxes to open, or browse at random. The works can be purchased for between $5 and $3,000. Afterward, visitors can witness matzo bakers in action. DANCING IN THE PARK The Central Park Conservancy holds its 10th annual summer benefit under the stars in the park’s Naumburg Bandshell. Guests at “Taste of Summer” enjoy food from 40 New York City restaurants, a silent auction, and music from DJ Frank Rempe. Wednesday, June 1, 7 p.m., Central Park, Naumberg Bandshell, mid-park at 72nd Street, 212-310-6619, $300 and above.
