HELP FOR HALE HOUSE A gala benefit for Hale House celebrates state Attorney General Eliot Spitzer; the chairman of the organization’s board of directors, Zachary Carter, and celebrity mothers including Cookie Johnson, Vanessa Williams, and singer Angie Stone. Tonight, 6:30 p.m., the Lighthouse at Chelsea Piers, 23rd Street at the Hudson River, 212-531-5431, $500.


JUNIOR-COUNCIL JAZZ The Junior Council of the American Museum of Natural History presents its last party of the year. Guests enjoy cocktails and jazz on the museum’s Arthur Ross Terrace. The president of the museum, Ellen Futter, serves as hostess. Thursday, 6:45 p.m. doors open, 7:15 p.m. program begins, American Museum of Natural History, Arthur Ross Terrace, Central Park West at 79th Street, 212-496-3457, $75 guests in advance, $90 guests at the door, free for members.


PACIFIC CELEBRITIES Reba McEntire, Alec Baldwin,and Brian Stokes Mitchell are in the cast of a one-off production of “South Pacific.” The musical evening serves as a benefit for Carnegie Hall. Walter Bobbie directs the starry cast. A cocktail reception and dinner at Remi restaurant precede the show.
