PITCHES FOR DIABETES RESEARCH Michael Kay and John Sterling,Yankee-radio personalities, serve as the masters of ceremony at a celebration of the career of “Donny Baseball,” aka Don Mattingly.The event, which includes a cocktail reception, dinner, and entertainment, benefits the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. LOVE, HALLIE A performance of the off-off-Broadway production “Little Mary” will benefit the Love, Hallie Foundation, founded in memory of 11-year-old Hallie Kassandra Geier,who died in May 2004 after being struck by a SUV near her home in Sunnyside, Queens (more information is available at www.lovehallie.org). The play by William Leavengood tells the story of a 15-year-old Mexican-American girl who claims she is carrying the children of God. LANDMARK CEMETERY The New York City Marble Cemetery opens its cast-iron doors for a fund-raising event featuring a performance by the New Jersey Gay Men’s Chorus. The cemetery, founded in 1831, houses the remains of New Yorkers such as James Lenox, whose library, together with the Astor and Tilden collections, formed the New York Public Library, and John Lloyd Stephens, an archaeologist whose vault is marked by a Mayan glyph. The cemetery was designated a New York City landmark in 1969. Friday, 7 p.m., 52-74 E. 2nd St., between First and Second avenues, 212-228-6401, $12 general, $10 students and seniors.
