Songwriter Jack Lawrence discusses his new book, “They All Sang My Songs” (Barricade), with the jazz critic for The New York Sun, Will Friedwald. Mr. Lawrence, a Brooklyn native, penned such songs as “All or Nothing at All,” for Frank Sinatra, “Beyond the Sea,” made famous by Bobby Darin, and “Tenderly,” which launched the career of Rosemary Clooney. LIFE STORIES
At KGB Bar, two memoirists read from their latest books. The gossip columnist for msnbc.com, Jeannette Walls, reads from “The Glass Castle” (Scribner), her account of growing up with nomadic and unreliable parents. She is joined by Joel Agee, who reads “In the House of My Fear” (Shoemaker & Hoard), in which he recounts his own nomadic, unreliable, and drug-fueled past.
