ATWOOD AT WORK


Author Margaret Atwood reads from her latest book, “Writing With Intent” (Avalon). The collection of her nonfiction work includes reviews of books by Italo Calvino and Toni Morrison, an essay about how George Orwell’s “1984” influenced her novel “The Handmaid’s Tale,” and a reflection on the pornography industry. NEW YORKER NIGHT


The author of the new illustrated collection “Saul Steinberg and the New Yorker” (Harry N. Abrams), Joel Smith, discusses his compilation of the artist’s work over six decades at the magazine. Humorist Ian Frazier, who wrote the introduction and is a frequent contributor to the New Yorker, joins Mr. Smith.
