THE BATTLE COMES HOME Eyal Press discusses and signs his memoir “Absolute Convictions: My Father, a City, and the Conflict That Divided America” (Henry Holt). Mr. Press grew up in Buffalo, where his Israeli-born father was one of only two doctors in town who performed abortions. The city’s only other abortion provider, Bernard Slepian, was murdered by a sniper in 1998, and the Press household was subsequently put under federal surveillance.
