Barry Humphries, the man behind Dame Edna, airs out another of his alternate personalities at a one-time-only show. Sir Les Patterson is “Australia’s Cultural Ambassador to the United States.” Unfortunately for the Aussies, he is primarily interested in drinking, womanizing, and telling dirty jokes. “Dame Edna: Back With a Vengeance!” closed yesterday on Broadway. Tonight, 8 p.m., Zipper Theatre, 336 W. 37th St., between Eighth and Ninth avenues, 212-239-6200, $67.50.
NEW YORK JOKES
Each installment of the new comedy show “It Came From New York!” – performed weekly this month – takes a different city theme, from “Sex, Drugs, Rock & Roll” to “Me & You Down by the Schoolyard.” Michele Carlo plays host to a revolving cast of Gotham comedians.
