BEHIND THE SCENES


New graphite drawings by Texas-born artist Richard Anthony Martinez are on display in “Backdrops and Cameras.” His subject is the early film technique known as “matte painting,” in which actors’ actions were superimposed onto detailed paintings used as backdrops. ACME ART


Graphic novelist Chris Ware’s first solo exhibit in New York, “The ACME Novelty Library #16,” includes the latest installments of his ongoing serialized stories.
