LOUIE, LOUIE Before a weekend performance “Captain Louie,” Broadway actor Michael Cerveris reads “The Trip,” the 1978 children’s book by Ezra Jack Keats on which the play is based (Saturday, 2:30 p.m.).The story follows a little boy named Louie, lonely on a Halloween evening, who builds a city in a shoebox and begins a fantastical journey into his imagination. Jeff Subik’s set design imitates Keats’s distinctive cutout style. Composer and lyricist Stephen Schwartz (“Wicked,” “Godspell”) has added two new songs for the revival’s staging. Meridee Stein directs the musical, which is a production of First All-Children’s Theatre. A CENTURY OF SONG Bob and Eva Gabriel perform tunes that were popular in America between 1860 and 1960. The concert takes place in a Staten Island living history museum, which is currently displaying the self-explanatory exhibit “TOYS!” A reception follows the concert.
