WILD NIGHT SummerNights is a live music and screening series that shows classic and contemporary television shows from the Jewish Museum’s National Jewish Archive of Broadcasting. The small-screen showings kick off with an evening of shorts featuring the artwork of Maurice Sendak, including “Where the Wild Things Are” and “In the Night Kitchen.” Tonight, 5-9 p.m., Jewish Museum, 1109 Fifth Ave. at 92nd Street, 212-423-3200, free with museum admission, which is pay-what-you-wish on Thursday evenings.
BOLD EAGLE “Kapow!” (Simon & Schuster) follows the afternoon adventures of a young boy dressed up as his favorite superhero, American Eagle. George O’Connor reads his picture book in Brooklyn.
