CLOISTER CELEBRATION Highlights of Garden Day at the Cloisters include a flax-spinning demonstration and a medieval tapestry workshop. Saturday, 10 a.m.-4 p.m., Fort Tryon Park, 212-923-3700, free with admission, $15 general, $10 seniors, $7 students, free for members and children under 12.
GIANTS AND FIREWORKS The South Street Seaport’s family festival includes a bevy of costumed characters, concerts including a performance by They Might Be Giants (7:30 p.m.), and a musically synched fireworks display (9:30 p.m.). THINK PINK Pinkster, the Dutch colonial celebration of Pentecost, offered enslaved Africans the chance to gather with family members and celebrate. A modern Pinkster’s Carnival keeps the tradition alive through games, races, prizes, face painting, food, and performances by Caribbean-American musicians. RIVERSIDE ROMP Riverside Park South hosts Kids’ Day, with musical performances, juggling, and pirate lessons. Performers include rap mistress Ileene “Noodle” Weiss, juggler and comedian Brian “Idiot4Sale” Foley, and the Pirate Circus.
